ISRP Seniors Present Research at Westchester Rockland JSHS

Independent Science Research Program students Kiran Marfatia '23 and Akshi Khowala '23 joined more than 150 students in the Westchester Rockland Junior Science and Humanities Symposium (JSHS) on Saturday, Jan. 28.

Akshi won third place in her room for her research on an “Application of Chemical Modifications in gRNA to Alter CRISPR Editing Efficiency.” She moved on to present a poster at the Upstate JSHS in March, and won 1st place in her session!

Kiran presented his work on the “Development of a Python-Based Aircraft Flaps Model using the Multi-Disciplinary Optimization Software OpenMDAO,” and was selected to be an alternate for the Upstate JSHS fair.
